报告摘要:
本讲座将分析传统处理器芯片面临的性能、功耗、成本等方面的挑战及需求,阐述通用与专用融合的异构计算系统在性能、功耗、灵活性等方面的优势。概述异构计算系统从电路、架构等方面的关键技术,重点探讨:1)讨论异构系统对互连网络的需求,阐述高效的片上互连网络及片间互连网络关键技术;2)讨论异构系统对时钟方案的需求,阐述数据驱动的异步电路关键技术;3)讨论基于新型非易失器件的异质计算系统。
This lecture will analyze the challenges of traditional processor chips in the performance, power, cost, etc., and discuss the advantages of heterogeneous computing systems in terms of performance, power and flexibility. We will explore the key technologies of heterogeneous computing system from the aspects of circuits and architectures, and focus on the following issues: 1) The requirements of interconnection networks for heterogeneous systems, and the key technologies of efficient on-chip interconnection network and inter-chip interconnection network; 2) The requirement of clock distribution solution for the heterogeneous system, and the key technology of data-driven asynchronous circuit; 3) Heterogeneous computing systems based on novel non-volatile devices.
报告人介绍:
虞志益,中山大学微电子科学与技术学院教授、博士生导师、副院长。曾任职于美国IntellaSys公司、复旦大学专用集成电路与系统国家重点实验室、美国卡内基梅隆大学(CMU)电子与计算机工程系。复旦大学本科及硕士,美国加州大学Davis分校博士。虞教授的研究兴趣为数字集成电路设计及处理器芯片设计,重点研究处理器的互连、加速、非易失系统等。发表IEEE Transactions、ISSCC等论文130余篇,授权专利30余项。是IEEE固态电路学会广州分会主席、APSIPA及ICTA等国际学术会议的技术委员会共同主席。
ZhiyiYu is a professor and vice dean of school of Microelectronics Science and Technology, SunYat-senUniversity. He was withIntellaSyscorporation, State Key Lab of ASIC and System, Fudan University, and department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Fudan University, and Ph.D. degree from University of California, Davis, USA. Professor Yu's research interests include digital integrated circuit design and processor chip design, with emphasis on processor interconnection, acceleration, and non-volatile systems. He has published more than 130 papers on IEEE Transactions, ISSCC and has more than 30 authorized patents. He is the chair of IEEE Solid-state Circuit Society Guangzhou Chapter, and TCP co-chairs of several international academic conferences such as APSIPAand ICTA.
