Biography:
Dr. Zhong Liang, PhD, (PI), is Scientific Lead and Principal Investigator in National Heart Research Institute Singapore (NHRIS), National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) and adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, adjunct Professor at Medical College of WUST, adjunct Professor at Hebei University. Dr Zhong is specializing in bioengineering, cardiovascular physiology, biomechanics and medical device technology. He heads a team of research engineers at the Bioengineering Research Core, National Heart Research Institute of Singapore (NHRIS), with advanced capabilities in biosensor system design, image post-processing, high-performance computing for simulation, and patient-specific finite element modeling of the heart. He has co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious international journals, filed 8 patents, and currently directly mentors several PhD and post-doctoral fellows. He has received Young Investigator Award (twice) from Singapore Cardiac Society (2011 and 2012), Young Investigator Award from Asean Federation of Cardiology (2012), and Sejong Medical Award from Asia-Pacific Pediatric Cardiac Society。
