PI个人简介:陶光明博士,教授,博士生导师,中组部国家“千人计划”青年专家,任职华中科技大学光电与电子信息学院和武汉光电国家研究中心。本科硕士和博士分别毕业于山东大学(2006)、复旦大学(2009)和美国中佛罗里达大学光学与光电子学院(2014)。一直致力于特种光纤、基于纤维的纳米技术以及先进功能纤维的跨学科的研究工作。先后在Nature,‎Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci., Advances in Optics and Photonics等国际学术杂志发表学术论文30余篇,拥有7个美国专利,并担任将于2018年出版的先进功能纤维领域首部英文专著(The Handbook of Advanced Functional Fibers, Springer)的主编。陶教授30余次受邀在OSA-CLEO、OSA-FiO、ACerS-GOMD、SPIE-DSS等国际学术会议、Corning等著名公司、CNRS、UIUC等著名科研单位上发表专题邀请报告(Invited talk)/大会报告(Keynote talk),并数次组织MRS等国际顶尖会议的相关分论坛并担任主席,获得过包括美国光学学会,国际光学工程学会,美国陶瓷学会等学会的学术奖励,以及中国政府颁发给中国海外博士留学生的最高荣誉奖“2013年度国家优秀自费留学生奖学金之特别优秀奖”(该年度全球仅6名中国留学生获”特别优秀奖”)。陶教授为30余个跨学科的SCI学术杂志、数个国际学术会议以及专业书刊等担任特约审稿人,例如Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Optica等。目前为“武汉·纤维谷”项目专家委员会委员、上海大学特种光纤与光接入网教育部重点实验室兼职教授、科技部研发计划重点专项专家评审组成员。

PI Bio:Dr. Tao is a Professor at the School of Optical and Electronic Information at Huazhong University of Science and Technology and National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (Wuhan, China). He received his B. Eng. (2006), M.Sc. (2009), and Ph.D. (2014) in optics/optoelectronic from Shandong University, Fudan University, and the University of Central Florida, respectively. He was a Research Scientist/Sr. Research Scientist at CREOL, The College of Optics & Photonics from 2014 to 2017. He was a visiting scholar at Chinese Academy of Science (2007-2008), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2012), and Centre national de la recherche scientifique (2017). He has been awarded several scholarships/honors from Optical Society of America (OSA), the International Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE), and the American Ceramic Society (ACerS), the Extraordinary Potential Prize winner of Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad (2013) and “1000 Young Talents” Award (2017). Dr. Tao has published about 35 scientific papers, holds 7 U.S. and foreign patents, has given in excess of 45 invited lectures/colloquia or keynote talk, and has co-organized 6 national and international conferences and symposia. Dr. Tao is one of the technical committee members of “Wuhan•Fiber Valley”. He is serving as peer reviewer for more than 30 journals, including Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Optica, APL Photonics, Optics Express, Optics Letters, RSC Advances, Journal of the American Ceramic Society, Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics etc. He has years of research experience in optical sciences and engineering in academia, industry, and government institutes with expertise in the areas of infrared fiber, in-fiber nano-fabrication, and advanced functional fibers and textiles. Dr. Tao is also the cofounder of Lambda Photonics LLC, a startup company which developed out of his Ph.D. work.

先进功能纤维实验室(Center for Advanced Functional Fibers, CAFF)主要致力于基于纤维的微纳米制造技术、特种光纤、以及先进功能纤维和织物等以一维功能器件为中心的多学科交叉的应用科学研究。将具有不同的电、光、热和机械等性能的材料集成到具有特殊结构和多种功能的单根光纤中,可扩展光纤的各类应用提供了新的机会。未来的先进功能纤维将具有更多样化的功能并更加无缝地融入我们的日常生活。

课题组成立于2017年10月,目前正持续发展中,逐步形成一支包含副教授、博士生、硕士生、本科生、技术工程师、专职科研秘书等在内的完整科研梯队。队伍年轻且专业配置合理(光电、材料、机械自动化、电子信息等背景均有成员参与)。实验室面向学术前沿和国家需求,交叉融合多学科知识。氛围自由,实行平行管理方式,正在搭建具有国际一流水准的先进功能纤维制造科研平台。非学术性的工作交由专职科研秘书负责,坚持“人是最重要的”原则。欢迎不同背景(电子信息、物理\光电、纳米、玻璃陶瓷\纤维\能源材料等)的优秀本科生申请保送硕/博研究生,热烈欢迎博士后、讲师、副高等研究人员加入。
